Bio

Dr. Crane is a rehabilitation medicine and spinal cord injury medicine physician. Her clinical expertise is in acute and chronic management of persons with spinal cord injury. She also has a focus in spasticity management including blocks (Botox™ and phenol) and intrathecal medication management.

Dr. Crane is board certified both in physical medicine and rehabilitation and in spinal cord injury medicine. She enjoys working with patients along the spectrum of their disability including soon after injury on the inpatient rehabilitation unit and years later in the outpatient clinic.

She joined the faculty of the UW Department of Rehabilitation Medicine in 2010. She completed a combined M.D./M.P.H. degree at Tulane University School of Medicine and School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. She completed her residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation and a subspecialty fellowship in spinal cord injury medicine at the University of Washington.

Patient Care Philosophy

I believe that all people deserve the opportunity to enjoy active, healthy and fulfilling lives. I work with my patients to help them improve their function and regain their quality of life after serious injuries or illnesses.

Personal Interests

I love spending time with my family. I also like to run, ski, kayak, bike, hike and swim. I have done some volunteering with various adaptive athletic programs, and hope to do more in the future.

Clinical Interests

Comprehensive care of the patient with acute and chronic spinal cord injury; spasticity management including blocks (Botox™ and phenol) and intrathecal medication; and trauma rehabilitation.

Research Interests

Health services; epidemiology; and outcomes related to secondary conditions of spinal cord injury.
